The Cook lift is an excellent exercise to isolate and strengthen the Glutes. It can be used as a rehabilitation exercise or glute activation exercise.

  • The ball makes the exercise more unstable & thus more difficult. This is a Glute Maximus strengthening exercise. There are 3 muscles that make up the glutes & thus provide much of the shape of the butt. The glute maximus is the most predominate muscle. Squats target it really well. You can't ignore the glute minimus and medius. The best way to improve the shape of your rear is to focus on the glutes w/ squating & directly targeted glute strengthening exercise.

  • why do you use a ball? Which is the result of doing this exercise? I want a rounder butt: does it work for it?
