Malala Yousafzai speaks for the first time since was targeted and shot in October 2012 for her advocacy on behalf of girls' education. Malala announced the creation of the Malala Fund, which supports the right to education for children across the world. Vital Voices established the Fund on behalf of Malala and her family, working together with supporters of the cause including the United Nations Foundation and Girl Up, and within a community of supportive organizations and individuals, to realize Malala's vision of education for all girls. The Taliban claimed responsibly, saying they would kill her the next time. How are you any different to them?

I am disgusted with these actions of the Talibans, and what's worse is that they think they are representing Islam.Islam is the religion of peace.I am a muslim and i am very proud. Our prophet Muhammed's wife ayesha was a woman with magnificent education, and our religion encourages education and knowledge. Its a shame that people are getting this image of the beautiful Islam...

The image I have of any faith-based or dogma-driven religion is that it is solidly opposed to education based on evidence and fact. Hence all the creationist schools and many of the faith schools run by those wearing religious blinkers.

It's important to get an education but it's just as important for that education to be based in fact rather than fiction and wishful thinking. I'm all for promoting education but not any old education.

It's not because of "prayer". Malala is alive today because of medical expertise, public outcry and a balance of misfortune and luck. What put her in hospital was dogma what got her back on her feet was humanism. Definitely we need education but - MORE IMPORTANTLY - we need solid, evidence-based education without any dogma and superstition. Prayer does nothing and dogma does nothing but harm.

"I thought so. You are pathetic."

What, could you please tell me, exactly, made you think that, of someone you have never met, if you had not watched the clip?
