Wyatt wigs out with his whirling dervish wild puppy routine and shows how the Gentle Leader head collar collar can be used to control and train dogs to walk calmly. Even after being charged by Slab City dogs.

  • lol your dog is nut case = i have one of those too, is he gentle leader better than halti and also does your gsd show dog to dog agresion and if so how is the handling g.leader?

  • @meyarz Wyatt is a nut case for sure. We have found the best tool for controlling Wyatt in any environment is a prong collar. While the gentle leader did help direct him while walking it did not provide ample control of his GSD prey drive, especially around small white dogs. SQUIRREL! Now we can get him to sit as they yap and walk by. Now, if we could only get him to do that quietly.

  • would "pulling up" help the dog not charge another dog?

don't worry a freindly playful charge but it's very annoying and embarissing

  • @80spopQueen Yes, but it sounds like deeper training may be required. Don't reward the anxious annoying behavior with sweet calming talk, rather give a sharp correction, turn away and don't approach the other dog until yours is calm. This is something we're still working on with Wyatt!

  • @jerrygdawg trust me I do! im not that type of person who treas my dogs like a child! but i can't correct her like cesar the dog whisper (tapping her on the neck or tapping her with me heal to snap her out of it) without it looking kinda mean! the dog doesn't mind it but the neigbors don't really care for it..what should i do!

  • @80spopQueen Consider consulting a professional or post in Sarah Wilson's "My Smart Puppy" discussion forums. Good luck!

  • OMG, I feel your pain. That is exactly what my dog does. Walking her is a nightmare!! But she has a lot more strenght when she pulls (she's 80 pounds). Thanks for posting the video, I'm gonna give it try.

  • CUTE dog!

  • I'd like to see Wyatt and Codie Rae together. Go, speed racers! :)
