Actually mate, it is illegal to put carp back into a creek. It is in queensland anyway, there are signs at alot of fishing spots letting people know. They are an introduced pest, destroy australian waterways, kill other species of native fish, and the best thing you can do is put a knife through its brain, and throw it in the bush.

They aren't koi there european carp!It's illegal to release carp back into the water!

@tpawlus - Sorry Champ but it is illegal to return carp to the water in nsw. They are a declared Noxious species and are to be destroyed! Big fines from NSW fisheries if your caught putting them back or transporting them anywhere else alive!!

@tpawlus They eat juvenile native fish + de-vegetate riverbeds, which destroys the habitat for native fish, giving them less areas to live, feed and breed. Carp are really REALLY bed for Australia. The Department of Primary Industries in NSW actively encourage killing of carp, but currently it's not illegal to release them back to the same water where they were caught (but it's illegal to put them back in another area). Totally ignorant to kill these fish. They are here to stay throwing them in the bush and sticking knives in their heads is pointless..Enjoy the sport they give and show some respect. And fuck the government they don't know diddly shit about the environment nor the ecosystem.

To all you people who do not like the fact Carp are a declared pest in some states of Australia and diagree with killing them. That is the law in some of our states and if the boys are doing the right thing and killing the fish, get over it. If people were not so damn selfish and stopped releasing their bloody pets (pest) fish into our lakes and streams this would not be an issue.
