China Vs Vietnam naval battle

A small naval battle clashed between Chinese navy and Vietnamese navy for the control of Chi Gua Reef in South China Sea in 1988-03-14. One Landing ship and two armed vessels from Vietnam and three frigates from China engaged.

By 08:47 AM, Vietnamese started to shoot at the Chinese soldiers who were trying to seizure the Vietnamese flag on the reef. Then Chinese frigates shot back with 100mm and 37mm cannons. Anti-ship missiles were not used. Two Vietnamese ships sunk, one took the ground, about 400 Vietnamese got killed, 9 captured. One Chinese marine injured.

All are fooling one another. Some Asian countries try to play around to enjoy double or more benefits by flirting with China and US at the same time. China dont give it damn. You r right that American asses are expensive compared to the Chinese. Thats why US has suffered a lot in paying their casualties and has lately spent all efforts to develop the unmanned planes to avoid too much spending in the war. This time, US bluffs to shift the focus to the pacific. Yes, Pentagon is fucking right to shift its focus but not exactly the displaced war machines and staff to Asia. All America really wants is to comfort her allies in Asia while keeping some jobs.
