Adventure Island came out in 1986 for the Family computer in Japan and MSX in 1986. It was later released on NES in 1988. It has numerous sequels on both NES and SNES. This game came out way before Tombi did in the late 1990's. if anything Tombi is rip off of Adventure Island.
