A total solar eclipse is a total solar eclipse. But they don't cover the whole planet, just a "spot" (like in the video), and it's only in the very center of that spot that the sun is totally darkened. Most of the area will only see a part of the sun obscured by the moon. About once every 400 years the same area/country/city will get to be in the center of such a spot. Message me privately if you want to discuss this further. :)

So you are basically saying that not ALL 'total solar eclipses' are the same;such that many 'total' solar eclipses differ from one another.

The 400 years is just a rough figure but generally yes... About every 400 years a "total" (70% or more of the sun obscured) eclipse takes place over a specific area. Now, with every total eclipse there will be an even greater area that will experience a partial eclipse... And then you have those semi-eclipses where the shadow of the moon just graces the earth without the "total eclipse"-portion ever seen. The one in the video looks like a regular eclipse, so the center of it is a total eclipse.

Is that called a 'total' solar eclipse? like if it happens (or happened) in same geographical region 400 years ago?
-
sorry let me rephrase that ...How long has it been WITHIN the past decade? sonce that actually hapened , where a solar eclipse takes off at exactly the same location 400 years ago approx....
-
Great! but what i really wanted to know was- how long ago has it been since the last decade where a solar eclipse took place 'exactly' in the same region of the earth approximately 380 or 400 years ago etc? how long has it been since something like that has happened? In 2003? In 2005? just curious.
you can claerly see, that the earth is flat !
