@MisterMinnesota Many points of disagreement with the man, but he does break down reviews in a well thought out sequence, and I have no issues borrowing "POU" from him. As for "little", I've never been called that by someone your age. I guess my best comeback is 'stay in school' =)
Missing the point (so to speak). The POU of this knife is SD w/ icepick grip edge in. Effectiveness in this regard is less a function of reach as it is of body mechanics and blade geometry. The basics of this application can be picked up in just a few hours.
The knives you mention are all good, but the POU is different. I might add that the Safekeeper is illegal in many jurisdictions
I totally agree with the2ndsaint -- I have Emersons, Benchmades, other MBC Spyderco knives...this thing is just the best thought-out self-defense folder out there.

spyderco civilian for a better/more aggresive blade
CS ti-lite 6incher for much much more reach
CS safekeeper 1 ==>you dont need any training and it does a lot more damage.
