China's economy is steaming ahead, making the country the fourth largest powerhouse in the world.Exports of Chinese goods are driving this growth. But it's not just cheap "Made in China" products that are flooding the markets. Cheap labour is also becoming a significant Chinese export that's having an impact on communities around the world.Al Jazeera's Nazanine Moshiri has traveled to Italy where the influx of Chinese workers is changing the face of Italian fashion.

  • You don't have to be a racist redneck you ignorant idiot.

  • Clearly the problem is with the Western countries who refuse to pay good wages and provide the same benefits as they would for their own employees. So they take advantage of cheap labor from non-Caucasian people whom they could care less about. You get what you pay for essentially. This does sound similar to slavery of Africans in the past and use of Mexican labor in the US.

  • Italians are lazy. No need to complain about other hard working people.

  • Gun dwon a few Chinos, no need to complain!

  • They are always two sides to a coin. Where globalization's benefits are uncountable, the negative impact on the Italian manufacturing industry is one of the many side effects.

  • Where is the Itallian mafia when you need them?

  • commie china, the last place to visit

  • @quandore "They" won't own the world. Their plutocratic minority of financiers, bankers and industrialists will own the world - just like they do today. The masses of workers will continue to be exploited for their pure body power. These sweatshops could easily be shut down as they violate every conceivable labor standard of Italian law as well as the ILO convention of which Italy is a member. This is bold-faced corruption.

  • Nothing new, everyone profits from the exploitation. The only problem is when rich Chinese drives Mercedes and jobless Italians look.

  • Italians cant compete because they dont want to work...

  • i'm italian but i want chinese citizenship.

better to be one of them since they'll soon own the world.

  • @lumianic italians are not lazy , are smart.Chinese sure have to pay services, rent or loan to the house they live in, educate their children and with what money if they work more for less?Btw, Italy govement is a shit.Either the fisc goes there and collect tax or set the monkeys and their shops on fire.
