I'm sorry, but your argument just holds NO water! Are you saying if you or I, or even an experienced bass-player picked up the same guitar we'd sound almost as good, if not just as good? Hogwash! It's ALWAYS the man behind the machine that counts. A better tool or instrument simply helps a more proficient player make the best of what they have. Mark King playing a $149 department store special would smoke most bassists playing his $12,000 Alembic. It's the MAN, not the machine!
