Carriage Horses: No Walk in the Park (SHORT)

Tourists are usually surprised to learn that New York City carriage horses do not live in Central Park. Some of them have a 4-mile commute daily commute, to and from the park, in heavy traffic. This short video compilation gives a glimpse of some of the danger to horses, pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists--because a spooked horse bolts and runs into anything in its path. This is abuse guys. They are forced to walk/trot around all day, dodging traffic, maybe for 10HRS+, and when it's break time, they go to a stalk they can barely lay down in without enough bedding. Plus, if u know about horses walking on the streets all day is bad 4 their legs. All for what? A ride.

The City Council of NYC, has held hearings and investigations into the ICONOC Carriage industry over the past year and a half, the result : The fare of a Carriage Ride has gone up to $50 for 20 mins, that's right, the City Coucil gave us a "RAISE" !
