  • Welcome Home Brother! I served with A 2/7, 1st Air Cav in 67-68.

  • Thanks, Bro! ... I was the Assistant Operations Sergeant for 2/7 when I first got in country but was pulled up to 3rd Brigade to do some intelligence stuff. Thought I was getting out of the field. Wrong! ;-) That was an interesting time.

  • I was a year trying to organize a platoon reunion and it all came to a head in May of this year. 14 made it there and it was just great! Six of them I'd not seen in 41 years. Garry Owen!

    Sloop

  • Excellent! And I remember Garry Owen well! Still have the shoulder badges for Class A uniform. ... My callsign for most of the time there was Cold Steel 2 Mike Delta. I was a lotta places and on a lot of frequencies. ;-)

  • was it eazy to go back to society after all the things you have seen there? plz respond.. a young guy from belgium...

  • Not easy but I did, almost all of us did. Only a few suffered and some of those still.

War is not good. But sometimes we have to serve.

    Thanks for your interest. --Ralph

  • Great video. Greetings from Sao Paulo - Brazil.

  • @ralphwroberts. You know the saying "Thou shalt live in interesting times" as a malediction.

  • Thank you for your love for your country.. Because of you and others like you.. I sit my home and enjoy my freedom.. Thank you. And welcome

  • My uncle was with C troop 9th Cav - John C Hansen KIA July 15. He flew a Cobra though - God knows from where... phoc vinh I think. Thanks for giving me a glimpse.

  • Yep still use "Shithooks" ...and their still shit...

  • I was with A-Co, 2/5. We spent a brief time on search and destroy out of Quan Loi. My most vivid memory- an errant 105 round landed in our camp and took off most of a guys foot. Many of us had concussion injuries, bleeding noses and ears. It was not a good night. It's hard not to give away your position in the jungle when wounded guys are juiced on morphine and laughing and carrying on. Strange memory. Welcome Home guys.

  • Thanks for the film! I was in the central highlands 68-69! Lots of memories. Welcome Home!!!!

  • i was a K-9 handler in the AF at Bien Hoa AB from June 70 to June 71 and can remember seeing alot of the helicopters leaving from over at the First Cav base next to us. glad you made it home safe too. interesting video and good to see more films from that time. thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for putting this up

  • I was 10 years old. My cousin came home after his 3rd Tour. He was medivac'd Home and was in the VA Hospital next to Great Lakes Navel Station. He got the DSC for action at Fire base Husky. I remember that war will never be forgotten
