How do you register a shopmade outboard? File for Homemade vessel\outboard license?

@jstrunck I really don't know. I didn't title this one. I would be willing to guess the lower unit is still considered the motor and has to be titled just as if the original engine was on it. I called TPWD for mine to make sure it had never been titled before I laid claim to it. Hopefully I won't have to jump thru hoops if I decide to title it.

Thank you for doing this video. I have a simular outboard that I have had for 15 years... I tried to rebuild the carb... I remember it being hard to find parts... I have many old push mowers in the shop.. Did you build a plat to cover where the old engine was bolted?

@Docking23 Yes, sort of. There's actually about an inch of space between the motor and the lower unit base. I made spacers out of aluminum square stock so I would have room to replace the roll pin in the drive shafts without taking the thing apart.

@kodibass- Thanks! Yes i just used a hand drill because there is already a hole in the crank to easily follow to keep it straight. I drill about 1-1/2" deep I believe.

it looks like the water pump is pumping water up the exhaust housing

@wtyner86 I didnt see much sense in dismantling the lower unit so I just bent the water pump tube to spit that water out the rear of the motor. It's not cooling anything.
