ke2323 you are so right. they were one of the best at the time both vocally and instrumentally. They are musician's musicians.

I saw this tour in mid-'81. Steve split very soon after while they were recording the Vinyl Confessions album. Streets began recording in mid' 82 and their first album came out summer '83 I believe.

Great upload Rick, I've been getting into live music so much lately, and this really blew me away, I never knew that Kansas was this amazing live, it just blows me away.

Thanks! You can find a boatload of Live Kansas here on my channel and yes they did kick ass live pretty much all of the time. It's hard to find a recording where they sound even slightly bad! There is a tremendous amount of over-the-top amazing live music so enjoy!

Cool Rick! I saw them earlier that year in the Chicago suburbs (Survivor opening act) I did tape this concert off the radio in 1981 but this sounds way better. They really never sounded better, then Steve left. O well. Thanks!

You're welcome.I saw them with Survivor as the opening act.Same tour but later.I actually sat onstage off to the side when Survivor played but we had to sit out front when Kansas played because they were using mirrors in their show. I had backstage passes and got to meet them after the show.
