I got two new goldfish (red/white ryukin and blue butterfly telescope) from a koi show and after a quarantine period, they are now swimming happily with the others in the 75g tank! I also added some live plants (anacharis), which the goldfish are treating as their own personal salad bar.

  • (I meant the one in the first few seconds, not that dark blackish one) --- That Telescopic is gorgeous! Is it a blue or a lavendar? I cannot tell from the video. Where did you get it? I know a few breeders who sell them but sometimes the colors seem inconsistant. Yours is lovely though!

Thanks! That's Isis, she's a lavender. I got her from Dandy Orandas. They have auctions at the Goldfish Connection website.

  • so relaxing!! Love the set up

    Thank you!

  • Hi flashofpink! can we remove the gravel in our goldfish tank and just have the bottom clean like yours? somebody at the pet shop said we have to keep the gravel so the good-bacteria can grow. and how often should we feed them if we have no gravel?(because don't they suck up gravel and spit it out again, taking in little pieces of food?) we are goldfish-beginners. thank you for answering. rainfalling2

Yes you sure can! You might want to remove just a little at a time though to avoid a possible cycle bump. Make sure you have lots of biological media in your filters for the good bacteria to colonize. Frequent, small feedings (a good amount to start with is to feed each fish an amount of food that equals the size of their eyeball) throughout the day are best for goldfish.

  • I thought i was the only one who has a big plastic plant at the surface of the tank water, now i realise i;m not! :)

I have gravel in mine though, but yours still looks great and the fish look SO happy! :)
