setting Xbox or PS2 to 480p makes sence if you are using a CRT TV that is 480p, most CRT TVs are 480i only so here you have it... plus - on a LCD TV it's completely pointless because their resolution is 1080p - and there is no console apart from a bunch of PS3 games that renders games at 1080p so you end up with converted signal on any LCD anyway... you can send standard 480i and it looks the same as 480p - LCDs do not run at interlaced mode like CRTs...

@ShadoVRaven1337 true SCART is just a connector it does not say anything about type of video signal... not sure if the author of this video is using RGB though... from my own experience there is not such a great difference between composite and RGB on 480i video like Xbox and PS2 - simply the graphics is too tiny already... but there is a HUGE improvement on my Sega Mega Drive, as for the LCD - it converts everything so there why would you need to use 480p when the screen is likely 1080p

@times9 well not if you're comparing it to the xbox, xbox360, or ps3 its not, but if you're comparing it the gamecube and everything from previous generations its the shit

@ajuk1 but isnt hdmi better??, there is a devies that connect composite or component via scart input to free the signal as hdmi output. its called ''Scart to HDMI Upscale Converters''
Will an S-video -> SCART adaptor inprove the quality of the S-video signal?

@PivotDemon548 You can only be as good as your weakest link.

It's called RGB cable not SCART, even composite cable can be SCART when you connect it through SCART input.

@ShadoVRaven1337 No, I made this video to prove this point, you can only be as good as your weakest link.

Thanks for the video!
I have a 42'' FullHD Panasonic TV but unfortunately it doesn't have SCART in I think. I got a component cable for the PS2 and the improvement from Composite is huge! I couldn't believe it! So I'm wondering if I'm missing out too much for not having a SCART or the difference from Component (or even S-video) to SCART isn't really worth a lot of trouble? Because honestly it can't get much better than component (even though I've heard SCART is the best one)

No Component > SCART, Well they are equal at interlaced but component supports progressive scan, if My TV had component inputs I would be using that, I might try a VGA to component adapter.
