That Song (I Wonder If You Love Me) - 60s rock ballad style love song

Original Song for Jasper Songwriting Contest - in 60s ballad rock style

The original lyric was inspired by a Summer of Lost Love when I lived in Jasper, Alberta (almost heaven) in the 1980s.
I've experimented with several melodies but settled on this dream-inspired one with basic ballad rock chords:

I search for the words to tell you
just how I feel
But somehow once they're spoken
they just don't seem as real.

So instead, I try to show you
what you mean to me...
some small act or token...
I need to make you see

And I wonder if you love me
And I wonder if you care
And I wonder if I want to know
And I wonder if I dare

So I say the words "I love you"
there's nothing left to do
But you don't want to hear those words
You say that they're untrue.
