  • am i the only one who wants a upright bass to play punk rock & heavy metal on it rather than jazz, classical, & all that other stuff? and also great playing, btw.

  • I didn't think gut strings were even available anymore. Sounds great!

  • I have to agree . . . the gut strings have a more pleasant sound than the wire wrapped strings. When I bought my Kay (used, in 1961) it had gut strings. Now it has wrapped strings but the bass isn't as resonant. It's more resonant with three strings than with four. I don't know if it's the strings or sound post placement. Time to take it to a luthier, I guess.
