MARLOS NOBRE,
Divertimento for Piano & Orch,
Mov. 3 - Vivo
Simon Bolívar Symphony Orchestra
Conductor: José Serebrier
Piano: Marlos Nobre
Teatro Teresa Carreño, Caracas.
The critic of "Discophage" (France) wrote on March 14,2008 about this work: "The Divertimento can be described, at least in its outer movements, a a wild Villa-Lobos or Milhaud (the middle movement is more terse and brooding), Nobre's language is fully contemporary, in the wake of modern compositional techniques.
Written in 1965 this work played by the composer himself, sounds full of life, rythmic force, spontaneity and a great formal construction. Bravo! both for the pianist-composer and the wonderful orchestral from Venezuela, the now famous Simon Bolivar Symphony!
