Round MIdnight, such a classic tune, and one that has been recorded by almost every jazz musician. Here's my version...

In case you are wondering this is mainly improvised (after the head at least). I have some music up but this is just to remind me of the reharmonization for the last head - I use some changes from the amazing Hermerto Pascoal here.
Hope you enjoy.

  • Which Hermeto Pascoal CD's do you recommend? I'm not finding alot by him online. Does he go by group name in most of his recordings?

  • Hermeto has made dozens of amazing recordings, many of which are very difficult to find. I love them all, but these 3 would be a good place to start..

    - Mundo Verde Esperanca

    - So Nao Toca Quem Nao Quer

    - Festa dos Deuses

  • Never heard of Hermeto Pascoal til this video. Can you believe it? I Youtube'd him and now I'm in love with him and his wife. She's insane!!!

    Great job with the reharms'.

  • Lucky you, I wish I had never heard Hermeto's music as then I could discover it for the first time all over again!

I think he plays Round Midnight on the teapot! Genius

  • lovely- i agree with 7notemode - who also does a really nice version - great stuff

  • Subs at 1:40 and 2:30 are great. 16th note line at 4:08 really nice. I like when you go slightly atonal.

  • Great voicings, technique and flow. Loved the reharmonizations. Five stars.
