Mayfest Concert in North Myrtle Beach, SC May 10, 2008. "The Legends of Surf Music" backed by "The Surf City Allstars". Shot with Kodak EasyShare Z812IS "still shot" camera. Terrible sound but pretty good picture if you watch it in the 720p high definition mode. Sounds best with the sound down real low.

The concert was a part of the annual "Mayfest on Main" festival. The band was "The Legends of Surf Music" comprised of Al Jardine (one of the original "The Beach Boys"), David Marks (another original member of "The Beach Boys"), and Dean Torrence of "Jan and Dean". They were backed by "The Surf City Allstars". The Surf City Allstars are: David Logeman (Jan & Dean, Frank Zappa, The Beach Boys), Don Raymond (The Ventures, Jan & Dean), Matt Jardine (Beach Boys, Wilson/Philips, Jan & Dean), Gary Griffin (Beach Boys, Brian Wilson), and Philip Bardowell (Beach Boys).

  • did any1 get 2 meet him?

  • @rosco01coltrane Yes, Al, Dean and David did a meet and greet after the concert and signed autographs.

  • @jeep5253 how much was it?

  • @rosco01coltrane It was a free concert sponsored by the city of North Myrtle Beach.

  • I was at this show. Although not exactly the Beach Boys patented harmonies, still not a bad band. Everyone seemed to like hearing all of the oldies. I am still wonder what took Al Jardine so long to get to the stage? Maybe he went through UCLA and got lost!! LOL

  • He was late for this year's concert (2009). This video is the 2008 concert.

  • What a blast must it be for Al Jardin and Dean Torrence to have these upbeat 'hapy days' kinda concerts.

  • Sorry! Looks basically like the same stage set up from the 09 gig. I just came across the video and recognized the OD setting. Guess I need to read the info before I comment. Don't know about the 08 show, but I imagine it was probably as good as 09. Thanks for the correction.

  • My Z812IS does this too! I thought I was the only one. The louder the sound, the worse the bubbling noise. Thank you for posting this.
