Dupré's great Prélude & Fugue in G minor, written in 1912 on the explicit request of his teacher Ch.M.Widor, and published 8 years later because of its great technical difficulties. Played by Philippe Delacour, on the Haerpfer Organ of Chateau-Salins (France).

  • This performance is superb! There is an effortlessly controlled flow of excitement. I rather prefer the urgent tempo. The organ and acoustics are perfect. How could Dupre have composed such a wondrous work? It must have been a gift from God.

  • A real eye-popper!!

  • Sir, You are one of the wonders of the world. Magnifique!

    Merci bien!

  • Sounds scary and beautiful.

  • Exceedingly ENVIABLE playing. I cannot understand how he can play like that and look at the score, too. Yes, the initial theme in the pedal could use a bit more prominence. The last few pages of the fugue have to be some of the most exciting moments in music!!!! Again, an EXCELLENT performance.

  • the swine that edited this with the opaque titles should be shot

  • Philippe Delacour's playing of this piece is the best out of any I have seen/heard on here. Most are too slow, and the organists seem to be afraid of pulling out stops in the fugue. Masterful!

  • I wonder what tuning was used for this organ? Certainly not close to A 440?

  • @2468HOTROD he really is!

  • Superb!

  • I adore this young man's talent! What a gift! His interpretations are to the single note!
