  • They should have done a new matchup with Herb Stempel and Charles Van Doren NOT being coached!

  • The guy was just lucky to get the right categories!

  • @wetbirdcrap That's what he had won as champion before that matchup.

  • why did the losing guy get $100,000???

  • So I guess this was Maury before he became famous for "You are NOT the father!"

  • @gsparkway324 Considering the older versions did $1000 a point, $2000 a point, $3000, so on and so forth...

  • @gsparkway324 It's Twenty-One... the whole point is to be a big-money quiz show.

  • this show gave away too much money. Winning the game should have gotten $10,000 instead of $100,000. Would have saved the network a lot of money

  • Comic strips and first ladies? come on!

  • The nine point question was easier than the 11 point question. I knew the answer to the 11 but not the 9.

  • @gamesurf583 ah just like "Ca$h Cab"

  • The cash they gave out was just a prop. They get a check after their show aired, and it is fully taxable by the IRS.

  • Did that guy get the full 100 grand, or did 'ol Uncle Sam take some of it out?, hmm... I often wondered about that, if they got the full amount of money they won, or taxes taken out.

  • And..considering this was the revival, security was pretty tight so he didn't have any advance knowledge of the questions.

And the players are not SHOWN the questions..because unlike the other Millionaire copycats there were no computer screens.

  • Exactly. It was lucky the subject HAD to be comic books!

  • I doubt it. Did you not hear him? He says he collects comic books, so he figured if he knew a lot about comic books he'd "go for the kill" (an 11-point question).

  • Yep, David Legler ($1.765 mil) and Rahim Oberholtzer ($1.12 mil).

  • Judging the history of this show the first contestent asked had already been shown the question and answers

  • I think Herb, along with Henry VIII's wives, died by that point.

  • I think 2 millionaires, actually.

  • it was but NBC brought back the show i think in the early 2000's. not to mention that this new version of 21 had an millionaire

  • Is this for real??? I thought the show was cancelled years ago...

  • Man, for a show with a history of being rigged, that sure looked like a train wreck. Not saying it was, just looks it.

Still, that's incredible luck and a good solid answer.

  • lol it is a joke.

  • that was the 1950s one not this one
