This is the jazzy ending to 80's Sunday night BBC drama, Howards' Way.
It was used from 1987-1990 and features the classic toe-tapping Simon May arrangement of the theme tune.
This particular episode is from Season 4 (1988), and good old Jack Rolfe has had his boat nicked!
Ah, those were the days...

I recently acquired the single release of the theme tune and am quite into the b-side which I believe is called "Variation on a theme from Howards Way". Anybody know which version I'm talking about and whether or not its used in the TV series?

Never forget the character Jack Rolfe singing Stevie Wonder's "I've just called to say I love you", staggering drunk by the quayside. That fella was a good actor!

Simon May did a great arrangement there. Got this on audio disc, but good to see the combination with pictures too, here!

Brings back memories from long ago. Good fun programme and a really excellent theme tune - cleverly written and complicated.
