@shimokita2 Done my homework already. The list you're referring to, The Economist's List of World's Most Liveable Cities, in 2010 did rate Vancouver #1 in 2010, it also rated Melbourne #3, Sydney #7, Adelaide and Perth equal #8. The same survey rated Melbourne #1 in 2002 and 2004. This American organisation also conducts the Quality of Life survey based on 9 separate criteria including health and education - in 2010 Australia ranked #6, Canada #14.
@shimokita2 Australia's 20 or so million people.. mostly live in paradise, along the coast, in evergreen land.. with gold sand beaches bountiful off our coastline... hundreds of world heritage natural landscapes... you might say desert wasteland... this "wasteland" is full of resources... the car your driving in whatever country, is infact made from Australia Coal... how would australia be rich, with only 20mill and a 200yr history.... its called rich land.. full of resources.. not waste.
@shimokita2 and Oz is also the largest exportor of Beef, Lamb, and Wool... if australia was 95% percent desert.. im sure this would impossible... lump brain! and Australia will never "run" out of water... we have two major ocean water de salination plants... when dam levels are less than 40% these plants turn gigalitres of ocean water into drinking water.! your forgeting Australia is a developed nation, 13th largest economy with only 20mill ppl.. there is nothing we can't do
@shimokita2.. vanvouver..? eeerrrkk why would you wanna live there.. its cold, isolated, lacks cultral events and world stage... anyway im wasting my time, 4 of Australia's Capital Cities have been on the economist most livable cities for the last 5 years.!! and its more like 70% arid and desert, toss wank.. considering Australia is huge, we still have more "green" land than european nations, african and asian etc... yep we are racist, im racist.. i hate 3rd world migrants! gross
@paddlebomb - Vancouver was the World's top cities to live in. Australian cities weren't even close. Like I said, Australia and Australians have a lot of problems to work out before they can see any of their cities work to the top of that list. Again, the continent is a desert, with 95% of it being unlivable. Water shortage projections for Australia, and even now, are a significant concern for governments. Australians also have a reputation of being extremely racist and intolerant of outsiders.
@paddlebomb The World will need Uranium in the face of climate change, coal and oil will be a thing of the past... Australia = worlds largest reserves of uranium and many other resources, needed by the mid turn 21st century

@nupthatisit: Do your homework goofball. Check Wikipedia and other lists on that. Melbourne falls behind Vancouver, Canada every time.
Don't know which lists you've been looking at, but I don't even live in Canada.
Australians are often a lot like Americans, I find.
