I took a faulty Air Hogs Aero Ace (X-Twin) and converted it to run as a Rapier (L1) powered freeflight mini-jet !
(Apologies for the piss-poor quality of this vid - It was filmed with a very old digi cam that can only deal with 15 fps). Mucho credito to Bobby Casey for filming most of this.

  • that bobby was good

  • @bobbycasey11 Indeedy.

  • I wonder about the scope for a slightly larger one with mirco RC.

  • @RadicalWhig It might work with the original controls from the AA adapted as rudder/ailerons - I did think of that. Would definitely need an L2 to keep it up though.

  • Now this looks like a fun plane to fly. Nice vid!

  • @elubb It was fun. Slightly 'wonky' and a bit of an experiment. I still haven't tried it with an L2, but that's in the pipeline.

  • Very nicely done. That must be much lighter than most stick and tissue balsa Rapier models. Flies very nicely. Thanks for sending the link!
