Here's me doing a quick drawing of my character Kiki the lemur, with some nice old music as a bonus.
The video is sped up, in real time the sketch took about 3-4 minutes, the inking 9 minutes, and the scanning and coloring took the longest with about 15 minutes.
For inking I use a pentel brush pen and I draw on normal printing paper. (yellow in this case) The software used for the coloring is Paint Shop Pro 5, which is indeed a pretty old program.

Songs:
'With a smile and a song' from an old record called 'Great songs from Disney movies'
'Happy days are here again' by Ben Selvin
'Jingle Jangle Jingle' by Kay Kyser

  • sweet process ... watched it yesterday on the go.

So penciling is at double speed, inking coloring at triple or quadruple speed.

Still quite fast for a calm inkjob.

  • @Yamavu Sketching and inking are at double speed, coloring at triple speed. Scanning is at... quintiple? XD

  • Wow you ink so slowly, most of the time I thought you had slowed down the film speed xD

  • @truetopdog Actually this is pretty quick for my doings, if I draw something 'official' I can easily spend half an hour on a pretty simple drawing.

  • I was wondering, what s the "With A Smile and Songs" Singer? I have been looking and can't find her DX

  • I don't like the music here.I guess it's because I don't like 1920's sounds.

  • Your feel for classic Disney style still blows me away! And the music is a nice touch too! ^_^

  • You were good with the ink brush(?).

  • Far out!

thanks soo much for the tutorial! =D

this is cadc from FA ^_^

  • who's holding the camera? or is it set up?

  • LOL you missed a spot zooms into the finger an fills it in > 8:09 That jus made me laugh. But anyways.. That was really smooth drawing you did there. So Paint Shop Pro 5 is how some people color in there scanned art work? I need to use that too! I only have Adobe Flash CS4 right now.

  • ooh, my bad. I'd like to know that, too..

  • There's various types, though. Like F, A, C, etc. That's what I was asking.
