I remember going to Circuit City when I was five and I bought my Xbox. That was seven years ago. Things can change. What was once a high-tech store that I used to buy games from is now a ruined memory, in other words, the effect of recession. I hope one day that it will open back up soon. First off, you showed a bunch of stores in Newark. Second many of the vacant store fronts were just moving to a new Fremont location. Third, you dismiss the internets impact on business. Record and book stores close due to online shopping, not a bad economy. Steak houses, burger joints and other Americana shops are closing due to "diversity". Everything is turning into either a taqueria, asian mart (all shop signs in chinese) or an Indian bazaar. Add the black crime =Fremont sucks now.
