I'm the conspiracy theorist? Read Machiavelli's "The Prince". Reading it will make you realize that government IS a corporation/ gang. The only difference is that whatever government does is legal.

Sigh... The U.S. government is in the pocket of wealthy lobbyists, corporations, and donors who represent the interests of the 1%. That is to say, your bogey man, the fed, is essentially an instrument of the wealthy and powerful. Now please stop reading conspiracy crap online and go take a long look at an actual book.

Power? You wanna know who has "Power?" The fricken US of A government has more power than "the 1%". If the fed felt like it, they could LEGALLY wipe out freedom in this country. The 1% have NOTHING compared to the fed.

not as a percentage of income. The top 1% are much more powerful than ever before so they control more of the wealth.

It's easy to spend money when it belongs to someone else. The hard thing is for you to give away your money. But if you want to give your money away to some cause, knock yourself out. Just be careful that you take your money out of YOUR wallet. Reaching into another mans funds will get your hand hurt.

???
The "rich" are taxed more than they ever have in history. The top 1% pay for 99% of the taxes the government receives.

To a layperson , this seems great, but I would like to hear what economists have to say about it?
