Julie Andrews had her cake and ate it too! She was Sublime as Eliza Dolittle on the Broadway Stage. She got the plum role of Mary Poppins. And she was Maria in The Sound of Music. Stellar in all three roles and Nobody did the singing for her! I loved Audrey Hepburn too...yet Ms Hepburn was no match for Julie Andrews when it came to putting Heart into Music

@Ace Ventura um, Julie Andrews does her own singng in the Sound of Music, she is primarily a singer, not an actress, and she actually played Eliza on Broadway.

Julie Andrews should have got the part in the movie, as she had done this on the West-end stage in London as well as on Broadway... And, Ace Ventura, you really don't know what you're talking about. Julie Andrews' voice was NEVER dubbed by Marni Nixon...
