My 1986 Z/28 Camaro Idling and Reving up for the first time after getting rewired and new parts under the hood since sitting for over a year because of a small engine fire. Stock 305 with 175,xxx miles, 5 Speed, edelbrock 600CFM carb, Weiand intake manifold, summit shorty headers, no cat, Flowmaster 3" exhaust. Sound and picture quality isn't great, was recorded on my wife's Phone. Will get new and better video's soon.
just curious what exaust sytem do you have on there?

reason for 305 sucking.. the basic engine design sucked..compared with that of a 350...btw that freind of yours with the 350 swap makes me wonder what kind of engine he used to begin with id like to to c your so called "tuned" 305 vs a "tuned"350ls1 while i dont hate on 305's its just when ford made 302 it was based on proformace there so better design while the ls1 was gm's proformace motor.

Not to burst your bubble, but a 305 and a 350 are basically the same, they use the same crank and rods. The 350 is just bigger in displacement. The engine my friend started with was a 1976 Corvette 350, basic stock rebuild, he swapped that for a built 327 with edelbrock heads soon after the 305 beat the 350. A tuned LS1 would waste my 305 no doubt, a tuned
LS1 would waste most tuned 302's. Also the 327, 350, and 302(yes GM had a 302) were GM's performance engines. The LS1isn't a 350 its 346.
