i was looking at a 67 cougar the owner said it was a 302, whats the horsepower on those?

@ChronicEye If it's a '67 then it wouldn't have the 302, at least not from the factory. 1967 would have come with a 289 and its HP rating would depend in the VIN. If the engine is original and you have the VIN, look at the 5th character. It should either be an "A" or a "C". An "A-code" 289 is 225HP, a "C-code" 289 was 200HP for 1967.

My '68 Cougar is a J-code (302-4V - 4barrel) with a factory rating of 230HP. An "F-code" 302 (302-2V - 2barrel) was rated at 210HP.
