Henry Busse and His Orchestra "Hot Lips" 1934

HENRY BUSSE and His Orchestra play "Hot Lips" on an English Brunswick 03791-B, recorded 9-25-1934. (This was recorded in my breakfast nook... sorry!) I had this record on Decca for years, and actually wore it out. Not many of my 78s get played that much! Busse was a major contributor to the Paul Whiteman organization, actually writing this song for them, (along with "Wang Wang Blues.) This Decca recording updates those early 20s Whiteman sides, only this time played by Busses own orchestra. Played on my 1944 HMV 102, with a 5B reproducer. ENJOY! And remember- USE A NEW STEEL NEEDLE EVERY PLAY!

This great old song was recorded by Henry Busse and his Orchestra in 1934. Busse first played with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra in the late 1920s before forming his own band a few years later. He was a trumpet and cornet player who was, at one time, the highest paid member of Whiteman's band making $350 a week - a fortune in those days. So sit back and enjoy this wonderful old top tapping tune! DMM
