Peter Blom, CEO and chairman of the board at Triodos Bank Group, was awarded the 2010 Botwinick Prize in Business Ethics, presented by Professor Bruce Kogut, director of the Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. Center for Leadership and Ethics at Columbia Business School. Blom discussed the role of ethics and values-based leadership in the financial sector and in sustainable banking practices. He described Triodos's role in the community and in developing a sustainable businesses for the long term. He also shared insights about Triodos's innovative use of technology to provide complete transparency of the bank's investments in sustainable businesses, and which have led to positive network effects, such as building a community amongst their customers.
