Ok, this can be helpful to some people, but, like lsfrench pointed out, you can say "chercher pour" in a different context, also one is not going to become "rich and famous" because they know how french verbs and prepositions work.... STOP saying that, please, considering you know MORE than just that and you're a teacher, not a film star... Also, the many, many comparisons to things like conditioners and 1=1, etc., are just overstating the obvious. Lastly, stop calling everything "beautiful"..

Actually the syntax of French does not equal the same as English's syntax. The Oblique argument in English does not transfer to an Oblique argument in French. There is no hidden preposition (there is no clitic) on the verb. English speakers have to quit thinking every language in the world is English with different words.

Question for anyone who speaks french: isn't it "Nous somme attendons la bus" instead of "Nous attendons la bus"? She is missing the etre form.

@Shamaster56 you ARE joking right? ..... French does have "ing" words, like looking, talking, seeing, etc. (cherchant, parlant, voyant) but one NEVER uses them with the verb to be.... I'm looking is je cherche. Not je suis chercher , and even if French people did use "am, is, are" with -ing verbs it would be "je suis cherchant", but of course that is NOT correct French either, but more correct than what you said. Do not comment unless you know if your information is true, you'll confuse people.

@Shamaster56 Where did you learn this?  You would never say "Je suis chercher mon sac" - there is no present continuous mood as there is in English. Instead we use the present tense. So it is "je cherche mon sac" or if you want "je suis en train de chercher mon sac" (I am in the process of looking for my bag).
