Ironic- one element of "Shutter Island" was speaking against Nazis and their experiments, and this video reminds me strongly of Nazi pro-eugenics film "das Erbe" about the so-called incurables... I do hope this uneasiness about motivation is unfounded...

@Shzaydancingtiger The video is real, taken from 1900's archived footage in American Psychiatric Hospitals. The masks people are wearing is to hide bruising around the eyes from having drills put through their brains in a surgical prodcedure called 'Frontal Lobotomy'. It was believed causing brain damage, and calming the psychiatric patient down (by severing nerves/brain damage) would ''cure'' the patient. It simply turned them into zombies and destroyed any individuality they once had.
