A fantastic dixieland jazz song recorded Dec.15, 1915 on the Victor label by Billy Murray and Irving Kaufman about the beautiful South. Music by George L. Cobb, words by Jack Yellen, arr. for male quartet: M. Witmark & Sons, employer for hire of John Hill.
Variant title:
Are you from Dixie? ('cause I'm from Dixie too)

  • Where in Dixie? I'm from Goose Creek, SC, near Charleston.

  • @musicmandon1 Central MS, in the deep south. ha ha

  • Now here's a duet--Billy Murray and_ Irving Kaufman on the same record. Don't know how often that went down. Great to hear those two together on a cool song.

  • @musicmandon1 Oh yes, I LOVE this song, especially since I'm from Dixie too. :-) I don't think they teamed up very often. I wish they would have, they're two of my favorites.
