Set to the song "Our Town" by Randy Newman and James Taylor (no copyright infringement intended, all credit is given to them) is this video showing photos of Marlin, Texas - past and present. Some of them good photos, some of how buildings have aged over time. The point is, Marlin has the potential to grow, it just needs the right people to lead the way. (And obviously money)

Some photos are mine, but obviously many I collected over many websites.

  • Great Video! This video touched my heart but also brought confirmation to the vision I have for Marlin...

  • @ministerslugger Thanks Slugger, and we share the same vision! At 15, most I can do is volunteer work, etc. but I would love to see this city grow even larger than it was before. It certainly has the potential to.

  • Yea this video should be remade with Lil Wayne and shots of Wood St. and the surrounding areas of H.E.B. Don't get me wrong I really enjoyed the video but that city is doomed.

  • at 2;24 is a clip of my great grandfathers home. I am coming to Marlin this memorial day weekend to take a look at it. It is currently on the market and maybe it isn't to run down, that I can purchase it and bring it back to the family. Cross your fingers!!! Thanks for your video

  • Last time I was there it made me sad to see so many abandoned houses, and the roads in such horrible repair. It will take some real will to fix Marlin. I hope it can be found there.

  • Great song. I love James Taylor's voice and it fits the sort of melancholy feeling you get when youve lived in Marlin only to come back and see it like it is today. Hope one day Marlin can rebound. So many great people from there have moved on. Maybe instead of candy-throwing parades we can get together and do something great for our town.

  • Great video! I just posted to Facebook and already a hit!!!
