Rebooting the Global Economy
The assumption that Europe, Japan and the United States could fend off recession at home by increasing exports to BRIC economies has been proved wrong along with the grander notion about the decoupling of emerging markets.
As global trade continues to decrease along with commodity prices, what should be done differently by governments and industry to jump-start global economic growth?
Angel Gurría, Secretary-General, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Paris
Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, President of the Philippines
Yoshihiko Miyauchi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Orix Corporation, Japan
John Monks, General Secretary, European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), Brussels
Joseph E. Stiglitz, Professor, Columbia University, USA
Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of Thailand

Stigilitzs' bit pointing fingers at the IMF is a unfair. But it's interesting to see how the other respective speakers think and what they have to say. A more fruitful and free flowing exchange ideas re. topics of contention could have been achieved by a smaller panel. It would have been fun to see Stigilitz argue some points with Gurria and to have a more theoretical approach responded to by a pragmatic one (whose process are often thwarted by political obstacles) w/o moderation.

How about a forum to discuss the rebooting and reforming of the global educational system? A true educational standard represents a true economic standard.
youtube search ( interdisciplinary education )
My playlist is on top.
Cheers!!!

I really like the new Thai Prime Minister; well spoken, seems like a clear thinker. Hope he can put the Kingdom back on course.

I strongly disagree with the world leaders. 1. Globalization is wrong. The problem is that people couldn't protect themselves from the corruption, globalization will further remove the governance away from representing the people.
2. STOP LENDING TO THE BANKS! It would be much cheaper for the government to help the business borrowers who did not cause the problems directly, WITHOUT THE BANKS. Fine the criminals to sponsor this.
Ethics requires a fair amoung of intellegence. This isn't it.
