On combat Patrol in Alingar District, Laghman province, Afghanistan

Video slide show set to the Army Strong music, Laghman Provincial Reconstruction Team, on a combat patrol to sweep for roadside bomb triggermen in Alingar District, Laghman province, Aug. 8. The PRT is serving as the quick reaction force, ready to respond at a moment's notice to unexpected incidents in the province. The QRF was called up to escort the explosives ordinance disposal team to a found improvised explosive device site while clearing previous blast sites along the way.

@imisrael92 I think it counts to some level. Although until you go active or Reserve or National Guard, you are not really "in" the Regular Military. But your JROTC is VERY helpful and much appreciated.

@imisrael92 It's my understanding when you are sworn in you are classified as a 'recruit'. You will not be a soldier etc until you graduate basic. It's not just about running, push-ups etc. Drill Sergeants are going to give you tasks that are designed for you to fail. When you fail, you feel broken, and when you feel broken, they are able to build you up again. Essentially they are breaking down your civilian attitude and building you into a soldier. That doesn’t come easy in the U.S military
