Dr. Itzhak Brook's presentation for health care providers on Rescue Breathing for Laryngectomees and Neck Breathers. From the blog: http://dribrook.blogspot.com
Finally an intelligent presentation of a procedure I'm sure none of us envisioned or readily asked for, yet thank GOD were able to receive. I have been a total laryngectomy for the last 15 years from advanced stage four carcinoma, and like most patients I have been the teacher/trainer of the medical profession. I speak to young children about the dangers of smoking, and feel that it is my special mission to carry out this important work. Thank You Dr. Brooks and I'll be in touch.
Excellent presentation which should be required viewing by all ER's, and General Practitioners... I have been a Laryngectomee for just over three years, and have found an almost total amount of ignorance with regard to my condition. I shall be showing this presentation to my local Support Group, in order that they can spread the word. Many thanks Dr. Brooks
Very good Info.. This needs to be taught at every ER. It is up to us to get this word out, no one else will. I have been a Laryngectomee for 23 years, and I can't tell you how many times I have had to teach my Dr's about me.. 99% of Dr's have never seen a Larygectomee, that is Scary!

Good information. This needs to be widely circulated not only to emergency rooms and GPs but also ambulance officers and paramedics.
