Part 2 of the Recordings in Session series...

Here, Billie is singing "I've Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good), a song in whicg she never recorded...
Very rare...

I tried to fit the mood of the video by adding photos of her past lovers...all of whom mistreated her...

Stay tuned for more of these private rehearsal, coming soon...

  • Merci.

  • @ShawAbbas uploaded by gasparsousajr : try again. I'm talking about Nina Simone's, "I've Got It Bad (And That Ain't Good)."

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable Here is Wikipedia on the subject:

"Jazz is a musical tradition and style of music that originated at the beginning of the 20th century in African American communities in the Southern United States from a confluence of African and European music traditions."

I did not say that Armstrong played like Europeans, I said that he played with the precision and form of European music.

I should get some browsing in if I were you before you make such comments.

  • @kevinastraw America always did its own thing.Armstrong and the hot five played nothing like that of Europeans, sorry

  • American culture was at its best when it was married with the values of European culture. Armstrong's Hot Five, for example, has the precision and form of a European brass band whilst playing jazz. Billie Holiday has the articulation and phrasal expression of an opera singer whilst singing out of the GASB. The crudities of Rock and Roll destroyed that fusion which, I feel, is the hallmark of American popular music in the 40s/50s when many great entertainers were also great musicians.

  • you said it ShawAbbas all these girls have the songs that they own and this one belongs to Nina for sure.

Take nothing away from billie, just listen to her version of stormy weather.

  • this is good but Nina Simones is the master one why cant i find it on utube? this is killing me

  • 1930's or 1940's? Excellent music! I have the original recording on my ipod.

  • thank you for uploading this, one of my favorite songs of hers <3
