I love the idea, the innovation, and consciousness behind this novel idea and practical use of tiny living. However it sure be a major bummer if some jabroni came up and hooked up your house and took off. Talk about losing everything!

unfortunately, the building prices for the prebuilt homes is rather steep. however, you could find a lot of salvaged parts for much cheaper. it would be nice to see smaller home sizes, even if not to this degree. no single family home NEEDS to be 2000 square feet.

@thesilverspoonful No you dont because its not a permiate structure! when you build it its known to be a moble home giving you incredible flexaiblity!

It's ironic that the ad next to the video is Toll Brothers luxury homes with a picture of a house at LEAST 6,000-7,000 square feet. Anyway, I love this idea of tiny houses. I hope more and more people start getting them and in 20 years or however many everybody will have tiny houses and it will be big houses that are few, rather than the other way around.

The essentials are what cost the most-- square footage is cheap. Which means that you could build a house twice the size of this one which would cost almost the same, provided they had the exact same appliances and wiring. You can't build a house much cheaper than these ones, unless you plan on only making walls, a floor, windows and a roof.

It doesn't "free up money" because you could build a much bigger straw bale house for under $20,000.

@TheFableLookingGlass then do it...competition is the American way. Right now it's been his idea and he's taking his idea out on the road, and selling it. If you, now that you see his, can do a better job...than go for it.

I love it! I always feel very comfortable when I'm camping and living right out of my backpack, so I think I could do this.
