I heard that the ratings for Chips were just so-so in the beginning. Then the producers had the smart idea to tighten the actors' uniforms and the ratings soared.

Any idea who Grossie was burying in the sand?
I liked Paul Linke. He played his role well. I remember hearing that his wife passed away from breast cancer in 1985 and I felt sad for him b/c breast cancer is rampant in my family.
He played some roles later in life. Some were evil roles too...he did a great job.
