@ilanatree1989 This does not make any logical sense since for a baby to develop within the womb it must be alive and cannot be dead. Even Anton lavey the High Priest of the Church of Satan was pro life.
What is the Jewish stance on the contraceptive, or birth control pill? Since it was developed by a Jewish doctor. A Dr. Gregory Pincus, to be precise.
Halakhah says that until the child is born, until G-d breaths life into the child, the child is not truly alive. Halakhah also says that the life of the mother is always more important. The health and life of the mother can refer to physical health or mental health. If the life of the mother will be changed in a negative way, than the pregnancy should not be allowed to continue.
I believe abortion is tragic, but I do not believe it is condemned by Judaism. I have studied this with a rabbi.
I'm totally pro-choice and so is my rabbi (formed the Conservative Jewish responsum defending "partial-birth" abortion). Most of my family is pro-choice and the reason that abortion was prohibited so much back then was because they wanted the Jews to reproduce sooo much, so any abortion would not help their population. It is not murder. It is not even a life yet. Judaism even says that the fetus has the POTENTIAL to be life. I bet you that at least 80% of my synagogue is pro-choice.
Can you explain 2 me why 89% of all abortion doctors are jewish??? No you will come up with some lame excuse or simply delete this question and ignore the facts.

There's no such thing as "partial birth abortion". It is a term devised by the anti-choice contingent to infringe on mothers' reproductive rights.
