http://www.netbooknews.com play Taiwan brings together the most innovative display technology from the worlds leading hardware producers. This compilation includes a mobile LED light bulb which has a battery and is activated through touch. This is a prototype device and we hope to see a final product in 2011, they tell us they are still working on how the light bulb will know how to turn on when there is a power outage and not just when you turn off the light.

We also have some ground breaking solar technology that looks like a window but is actually a solar panel, we haven't seen anything like this, it really looks like we could integrate this into our homes. The more opaque window will product 6 watts and the more transparent only produces 2. If you leave your home for 8 hours on the more opaque will produce enough energy to run your netbook for 3 hours.

Also at display Taiwan we uncovered some displays! The two most interesting screens were the CPT screen that looks a lot like the Pixel Qi Screen, the screen uses 2.5 watts and with out the backlight it goes down to 1 watt. check it out, for out door display technology we hope that it comes to market.

AUO also has a great display its transparent for functionality of the touch screen when looking at the pictures is up and down but in the drawing application anything goes. This 2.4 inch display is a prototype as they are also working on 4" and 7" displays. Putting something like this into your windshield interesting but the multi-touch capabilities seem a bit wasted.

There are also a few add ons in the video like a USB 3.0 display and some dancing robotic arms!

  • i'd pay good money for those solar panels

  • Soon robots wont need humans on this planet.

  • @KrisWiggly I laughed too. She still didn't get it at the end. However, that Taiwanese guy could have emphasized how his two fingers bridged the gap by touching one contact at a time. Some people just lack presentation skill.

  • @KrisWiggly I know! and after that when she didnt get it she just said "Very nice" LOL

  • i was laughing so hard at the led light part. you had to touch both metal surfaces to complete a circuit

  • lol you have to make a circuit by touching in to places lol

  • Is that CPT display an IMOD?

Also, I'm REALLY looking forward to the release of a 30-inch @ 1600p (or better) OLED monitor.

  • @madnessdexter

    Which Alien, 1,2,3,4 ...?

  • that red spinning thing reminds me of the scene in aliens with the android and playing the knife game

  • cool man
