Listen for connection, not perfection... it's a rough sketch :)

Isaiah 41:18 - I will open rivers on the bare heights, and fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

Isaiah 49:9 - Saying to those who are bound, Come forth, and to those who are in [spiritual] darkness, Show yourselves [come into the light of the Sun of righteousness]. They shall feed in [b]all the ways [in which they go], and their pastures shall be [not in deserts, but] on all the bare [grass-covered] hills.

Isaiah 35:7 - And the burning sand and the mirage shall become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water; in the haunt of jackals, where they lay resting, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

And an Amy Carmichael poem of same title . . . .

River of God

O River of God, Thy quickening streams
Cause me to bud again;
My winter past as one who dreams
I see my Summer reign.
For my bare height fresh pasture yields,
Where never grass did grow;
And in the borders of my fields
I see fair lilies blow.

My glowing sand becomes a pool
And all around is green,
And all is restful, quiet, cool,
As in a deep ravine.
O for a worthy song to sing
Thy goodness unto me.
Lord Jesus, my eternal Spring,
All glory be to Thee.

1917 Amy Carmichael
