Face Off: Obama vs. Cheney
22 May, 2009, 04:31
While U.S. President Barack Obama defends his decision to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, former vice president Dick Cheney has accused him of endangering the country.
Both the US President and former vice president gave speeches focusing on national security on the same day.
Barack Obama is playing offense against a ghost from the past or, to put it more accurately, from the past administration. He has defended his plans to shut down the Guantanamo prison camp and says he'll work with the U.S. Congress on how to deal with the detainees.
All too often our government made decisions based upon fear rather than foresight, and all too often our government trimmed facts and evidence to fit ideological predispositions, Obama said, while attacking the former administrations policies.
Cheney said In the fight against terrorism there is no middle ground and half-measures keep you half exposed.
you can't blame Cheney for speaking out Obama has been running Bush and Cheney down since day 1.

Cheney wins! If anyone compares both speeches in their entirety, there is no contest. It's hands-down Cheney. Cheney speaks facts and realistic truths and Obama, once again blames the U.S and speaks in vague, general rhetoric, just as his teleprompter instructs.

I'm going to have to give Mr. Cheney the win in this one. The "torture," if you want to call it that, is justified. Obama looks like a fool for closing Guantanamo Bay with no deliberation and no long term plan, it's something thats going to haunt his administration.

Face off...what a laugh. Obama's job is to ACT so outraged at the same time he's freed the former administration from prosecution. You can be assured Obama will carry on with cousin Dick & Georges plans. These public fueds are just smoke cover so the gullible can't see there has been no change in who is controlling our government. Did you really think the military-industrial complex would let the power of the Presidency slip from their control?
