The majority of the pieces here use real time elements of the physical world and combines them to create a SL existence.

You could call this a augmented virtual reality installation
or Composite Reality Installation if you need.

or simply an Art installation.

This is a new type of exhibition
It does something other than cross the RL/SL boundaries
It ignores them.

It chooses to place the art created here not as a thing separate, a category know as "virtual art" but as a work that says that this is just a new tendril from a body of human endeavour that we call art.

At is welcome level you will find:-

A variation of the total wind sculpture that while using the same overall approach I used with the total wind sculpture use the real time wind from different sites in Antarctica. The rest however is the same colour, sound and movement is mapped from the wind direction and strength .

The installation includes:-

Faceted Existence:- A performance piece that uses the Kinect to transfer my physical self into SL

This is me, my face .. as I sit behind my desk right now. A real time intrusion into virtual space .of my physical self. .And, for the period of the performance, in effect, a secondary avatar.
I use streaming data from a Kinect via a series of programs I wrote to a hosted site and then into Second Life.

Forest of Water :- the real time voice of rivers across the US. The physical characteristics of each river is mapped to a set of notes and colour. Each tree in the forest is a different river. It requires interaction with your avatar to creating a symphony of water as you walk through .. or stop to listen.

Magnetosphere:- A sculpture that constantly remakes itself shifting, twisting its parts and texture as the solar wind interacts the earth magnetic field.

Lake Mendota .. A lake in Wisconsin US it has been recreated here in real-time .. its characteristics showing the lakes actual characteristics .. Touching the various parts will also tell you the its current state.

Sabrinaa's River :- I made this for a good friend. It brings the river she loved in her life into the Second life she loved and projects it into things she loved creating a visual and aural piece.

Acknowlements

I would like to gratefully acknowledge Zachh Cale, Chestnut Rau and Amase Levasseur for both their generosity in providing and overall support in providing the opportunity to me and other artists. I also would like to acknowledge the assistance that was provided by all concerned.

History.
This exhibition is something that has grown out of my previous years work that merges the physical world and virtual world.
Characteristically these are pieces that meld aspects of the physical world turning them into reflections of shape, colour, movement and especially sound.

Starting with

Cells at the liquidity exhibition http://www.flickr.com/photos/glyphgraves/4789128477/in/photostream (may 2010)
