That ship should not have made the flight but instead should have gotten much needed maintenance. The steel wires used for structural purposes was badly corroded from regular flights over the Atlantic. At least it held up better than the R101.

Stupid Nazis? This happened in the US, not far from where I live in New Jersey...

I read somewhere that if this would have landed, there is an extremely high chance that through Nazi connections in America, Germany would have built the first atomic bomb. Imagine how that would've gone.
